New Mexico Military Institute Homecoming and Class Reunion 2012

The Twincorner team just finished our latest event with the New Mexico Military Institute. The NMMI Alumni Association asked us to decorate for this year’s Homecoming Dinner and Dance as well as their Class Reunion.  After a few meetings it was decided that this year’s theme would be the roaring 20s which made us at Twincorner very exited. We’ve been wanting to try this one for a while.

We started with a black, white and red palate for the table tops to match the school’s colors and went from there.  We typically use only one type of centerpiece for the table tops but this year we went with three.

For our first centerpiece we wanted to give a feminine feel and used a long black vase with roses and pearls.  Then we added lights and feathers for texture.

In the second centerpiece we used a tall black candelabra with white tapered candle sticks and added more pearls.

The third centerpiece was designed by Jordan, one of our design apprentices.  It makes a more masculine statement with a bulkier hurricane vase and bow tie topped off with one of the fedoras we used around the room.
A small light below a single rose in the hurricane makes the centerpiece glow from the bottom up.

We added a few center pieces to the entry table, the bar and dessert tables to help unify the room.

Whisky barrels, mason jars full of “straight from the tap” moonshine, a few dancing flapper silhouettes and of course bags of cash were placed around the hall to add to that 20s feel.

And of course you can’t have a 20s party without two 1920s cars.  So, we provided a 1926 Ford Model “T”, straight from the moonshine still, and a 1929 Ford Model “A”, ready to make a deal.

The cars were a huge hit with party guests and were stood next to and posed with through both events.

Desk and Derrick Club of Roswell

On November 8th, in coordination with the Best Western – Sally Port Inn and Suites,  we completed the 59th Desk and Derrick Industry Appreciation Banquet.  The floor plan was coordinated with the Desk and Derrick Club board members and Sally Port management in an effort to provide the club with the most appropriate layout possible.  The club’s colors of black and gold and the theme of “an elegant dinner” were used as the basis of the evening’s design.

Twincorner art + design covered the banquet chairs in white covers and black organza sashes. On top of the Sally Port’s white table cloths we placed gold organza and black napkins with a gold, black and glass centerpiece.  Within the centerpiece we placed a yellow rose, black rock and topped it with a large floating candle.  We also placed medium-sized votives and candles to add to the tables’ appeal. At the head table we placed similar centerpieces as well as large black porcelain and glass lanterns on either side of the speaker’s podium.

Twincorner also provided a banquet poster and lighted poster frame near the entry table, as well as a display area for the club’s six-foot tall oil derrick.  In the rear of the room we place one of our four-foot wide white turntables and placed the clubs black derrick on top.  With the addition of new LED lights and a slowly rotating base, the derrick provided a wonderful sense of movement to the room. At each place setting we also set out programs and books, which were provided by the Desk and Derrick Club.

All in all the event went very smoothly and we look forward to working with the Desk and Derrick Club as well as the Sally Port again.

New Event Photos!

The Twincorner Crew just finished up a few great events and I finally had the time to post a few photos.

Here is just a glimpse of a recent wedding at the Civic Center, a homecoming dinner and dance in a huge outdoor tent and a reunion at the Country Club.

It’s worth a look – they nearly worked themselves into a coma.

Twincorner art + design

Twincorner art + design was created not out of a desire to decorate weddings and birthday parties. It was born out of love. After an extensive courtship, the marriage between Tommy Rincon and Candice Montgomery had taken place and was celebrated by a fair number of friends and family.

One of the attending friends had taken an interest in the evening’s décor and wanted to know who had provided the decorating. When she was told that everything had been decorated by the couple she was very surprised. In the process of planning an event herself she asked if Tommy and Candice would like to provide a bid to design the event decorating.

That was July 2006 and Twincorner art + design has been providing event design services in the Roswell area ever since. Twincorner art + design has decorated for small private birthday parties with guest lists of only twenty-five, as well as private weddings with more than three-hundred and fifty attendees.
